Women’s Connection
Our women’s ministry here at Grant is called “Women’s Connection.” Our mission statement helps explain that name: “A community focused on building Christ-centered relationships.” We strive to build community within the women we are all connected to, knowing that true community must have Christ as it’s cornerstone. We are ministering to and alongside all women, of all ages, in all stages of life. Women’s Connection also desires to help women connect to our families, our church, our community and our world. Therefore, we are active in many different areas.
Missions and Ministry
Hands and Feet: Hands and Feet allows women to help with needs others may have. These may include a myriad of needs such as: providing meals to new parents or recovering patients, visiting with a homebound person, giving specific needed items, etc.
Missions Opportunities: We will soon be offering a missions study and will be providing opportunities to connect with a local Corvallis apartment complex and some Peruvian villages our church has adopted.
Operation Christmas Child: We have the opportunity to be an Operation Christmas Child participating church, so please see Betty Ricklefs if you’d like to join in that effort.
Fellowship
Gatherings: We have “gatherings” several times a year where we all get together for a time of food and fun. It’s a great time to connect with others, learn and share information and bring your friends to this lighthearted time of fellowship.
Discipleship
We have had topical Bible Studies in the past and plan to offer at least one this year. As well, we plan to begin a Bible Study and a sort of “mentoring” program linking older women up with younger women to build relationship, grow disciples and offer accountability.
Mid-Week Women’s Bible Study: A group of ladies meet Fridays from 10 AM to noon at the Jack London Community Center (2601 NE Jack London St). We welcome new ladies to join us! Contact Margaret Will at 541.752.6566 for any additional information.
Prayer
Kids Play, Moms Pray: This is a time for women to connect through prayer. From 9am-10am, women and kids meet to visit. From 10am-11am, the women break off to meet in another room to pray for our families, church and community. The kids are then watched by another woman. All are invited, whether or not you have or bring children.
Secret Sisters: Women who secretly pray and send gifts and or cards to another woman. Women are partnered up randomly in February and we reveal who each other’s secret sister was the following February. Plan to join this year!
Weekly Schedule
- Woman’s Bible Study occurs every Friday morning at 10am.
- Kids Play, Moms Pray meets the first and third Monday of each month in the educational building from 9am to 11am.
Upcoming Events
New Ladies Bible Study: We are starting Beth Moore’s Bible Study on the Book of James Monday, January 30th. We will not have Moms Pray, Kids Play until after spring break; the new Bible Study will be in its place weekly until March 19th. Join us in the Education Building from 10 AM to noon. There will be a cost for the book. If you are interested in joining us, contact Elissa Vanlandingham.
Secret Sister Reveal Party: We will be meeting the gym February 7th at 6pm. Bring your final SS gift and also a gift to exchange (under $10).
Ways to be involved
- Join us! Anytime, for any event! All women are welcome!
- We are really desiring Bible Study teachers for topical, expository, and contemporary studies. Teachers pick the location, date and time.
- We also need those who desire to be mentors/disciplers and have training opportunities available to get you more prepared.
- We need women interested in helping plan a retreat and gatherings.
- We need help with graphic art for designing a logo, flyers, posters, etc.
