2012 Peru Missions Opportunities

Now is the time to get signed up and involved in our ministry to the Quechua people in the Huamantanga, Marcos and Quipan, Peru. We will be sending three teams in 2012.

**August Mission Trip Update**:

          – Dates are August 20th – 28th, 2012.

- June 3rd is the deadline to sign up and have your first payment in.

- The Cost will be $1,700..

- $1,200 or $1,000 plus an approved mission assist form is due by June 3rd.

Cost

The cost will be between $1600 – $1800 per person (depending upon the cost of airfare)

Our Mission

God has called us and we have responded to the mission of spreading the gospel to the Quechua people. These trips will therefore have a focus of evangelism and biblical training. We will be running soccer camps, teaching Bible classes in the elementary and secondary schools, and leading Bible studies and evangelism events for adults. Additional, we will be identifying and meeting some of the physical needs of the people we will be serving. This will include some of the following: Medical supplies and treatment, school supplies, distribution of Bibles, construction projects, etc…

How To Prepare

If you are interested in going some important things to make sure you have include:

  • A passport that is valid for 6 months after your return to the US.
  • Current Hepatitis A and Tetanus shots.

Because we are going to a high altitude, it is recommended that you start walking so that you are a little more physically fit. It would be to your benefit (but not required) to learn some Spanish phrases and verses. We will have a translator with us, but he/she will not be with everyone at all times. Each team will meet at least a couple of times before going to prepare themselves spiritually and culturally for the trip.

In the coming weeks we will be posting a packet of information for those interested in going on any of the three mission trips this next year. Prayerfully consider if you would be part of any of these mission teams!
